‘Drugstore Romeo’ is the new single from New York-based dark pop artist Stella Rose. Her music is always atmospheric and tense, with her raw voice wandering darkly above a grungy yet shimmering accompaniment. She doesn’t shy away from melody though, with the track building towards an anthemic vocal climax. The video that accompanies the track is as visceral and disconcerting as her music, with visuals from German cinematographer Fynn Stoldt. “Love can feel like a disease, itching down your neck,” she says. “Overgrown and entangled with creeping thistles and daisy weeds.
